![]() ![]() So I started a thread to introduce myself before realizeing this one was here. Title: Re: Introduce Yourself (NOT THE PLACE FOR QUESTION However, if you have questions, please read the posting guidelines and either post your question in an existing topic on that subject or start a new thread in the appropriate forum. Just a simple thread for folks to introduce themselves. Title: Introduce Yourself (NOT THE PLACE FOR QUESTIONS) General Category > Rubber Side Down! > Introduce Yourself (NOT THE PLACE FOR QUESTIONS) Sometime look at how fast you go around a corner and you'll see that 95% of the corners are under - Print Page BUT since the advent of the higher hp 510 and bigger cc supermotos the sports bikes are getting hard pressed keeping up under 85mph. Motards and sport bikes ride together alot and both types of riders know the strengths and weaknesses of both types of bikes. Their just not needed if you ride in the right places. I sometimes ride with guys who never run head lights, turn signals, nor plates. Their are a lot of tight twisty roads as well as high speed sweepers. I live on the central coast of Cali and you ride 12 month a year. I guess alot has to do with where you live. I plan to change the oil, screens, and filter, every 10 hours.Īs far as riding something like this on the street. At 14 hours,(total), I changed oil, filter and cleaned screens. When I got the bike the first change,(oil, filter, clean all screens), was at 4hours, after I had cycled the bike 20ride cool off,3times,30ride cool off,2times, 1hour ride cool off, 2times. Hope this helps and if you do marry that girl with no front teeth make sure that she has a flat head so that you'll have a place to set your beer when shes polishing the old knob.ġ81, sorry that was " do the valves once or twice/year only. It runs like a raped ape on steroids, goes way over 100mph, does great 3rd gear wheelies, has a higher,(but different),fun factor than a sports bike. Look I have one and did what you intend to do as well as a pipe. ![]() But they can put around town if you so desire, as long as you realize that you are waisting a good opertunity to go fast and if you do only cruise you will become very boring, buy a harley and marry a girl with no front teeth. These bikes are made to be riden hard, pushing the redline and they run like a sewing machine. I've heard, from people on this board that they are going over 12000 miles between piston changes, and they are flogging these bikes. If your going to ride the bike once I cann't see you adjusting the valves more than once or twice a year. Thanks so much for any help anyone can offer.įrom what I've heard these beast go a long time on the street for everything. What kinda of HP and TQ and we talking about with a full pipe and a nicely jetted carb. I think I'd proabably put about 6k miles per year on the bike and would like to atleast go a full calender year before major service.Īlso anyone got a dyno graph of these things, I can't find one. How long should the valves and piston last me? Any other major service requirements. With that kind of usage in mind what kind of mainenace schedule am I looking at for things like oil changes & valve adjustments. I live in the middle of Dallas so I won't be riding a ton of highways just busy inner city roads, but the bike will be on the highway sometimes too. If I get one I'll probably go +1 tooth on the CS sprocket to bring revs down and ease the strain on the motor. I don't mind maintenance such as valve adjustments and changing oil, but don't really like frequent things such and new pistons and valves, clutch rebuilds ie any thing expensive. I would like to use the bike almost exclusively as a street bike, I know Husky makes the 610 which is much more suited to street use, but I can't get over the extra 70lbs. The main points I like are STREET LEGAL!, 6speed, e-start & low weight. So I'm getting really impatient waiting for the SXV550 to show up, I'm now hearing rumors that the bike won't be availible untill next year, so I'm now considering the Husky 510. ![]()
