Although this is my first time writing on Huron for Lyrical, it certainly isn’t his first time being on the page so I’m elated to welcome him back to help get us through this hump day. I first became familiar with Huron’s music after finding his 2020 single, “Loving You Is a Mountain”, on Soundcloud during the pandemic and since that point he’s released 4 impressive bodies of work including the one that I’ll be discussing today. The Nashville-based artist has been someone on my radar for quite some time now and his continued artistic progression over the past few years comes as no surprise to anyone who’s followed his musical journey up until now. Taste might be subjective, but the new Isaia Huron EP is objectively amazing. In the song, Secily channels her inner desires … Sensual and fun, “Gah Damn” is a holy person’s way of being unholy and a brilliant way to heat up the new year. Released last Friday, February 10th, Secily’s new single, “Gah Damn”, is a timeless r&b slow-jam that should be your go-to record when you’re looking to take things to the next level with your significant other. If you haven’t already tapped in with Secily or her most recent offering yet, you’ll be glad that you stuck around for this article – just remember to thank me later. I first became familiar with Secily’s music towards the end of 2022 after hearing her single, “Without You”, and her releases since that point have continued to solidify my original thoughts – Secily’s got “it”. Modernizing some of the legendary r&b and gospel sounds of previous generations, Secily is a breath of fresh air in today’s music scene that seems to be led by trend followers and copy and paste acts. In the age of social media, we’ve found just about every way possible to mask true talent, but Brooklyn-based R&B singer, Secily, needs no editing or autotune to cut through the noise. With that in mind, I’m elated to welcome him onto the Lyrical page today and shine light on this very special project. He cares deeply about every inch of his art and the story that he’s telling and his sacrifice to get this project to this point was nothing short of inspiring. I actually had the pleasure of chatting with Romeo + Juliet about a year ago about this project and I could tell from the moment that we started talking that there was something truly special in the works. Today is that day and I have to say, this is a project that will give you some serious FOMO if you don’t get your ears on it ASAP. While it’s taken me a little extra time to get around to writing about it, ultimately there was zero chance that I was going to miss covering this one on the Lyrical site at some point. If you pay any attention to the underground music world at all and love r&b music as much as I do, chances are that you’ve been playing the new Romeo + Juliet album over the last month or so. This 31-minute album is hot off the press and the tracklist is even hotter. Motion.” Who knows, though, this could probably change by the end of the day. My favorite joints so far are “Kome On,” “Don’t Tell Me,” or “Mr. He legitimately was my favorite set from the 2022 festival, and I’d pay some good money to have an experience like that again. This album will have him gaining serious momentum into the new year, and I’m excited to see if he goes on tour/makes another LL Summer Smash appearance. The consistency put out by this project is something I’d looked for with Savage since I started following him in 2015, and longtime listeners can see and hear it. All of these joints were massively successful in generating a buzz around the project, and his cult following couldn’t wait for its release today. Prior releases headline the album All Kap, Klosure, and JOKER PT. Savage, a rollercoaster ride that’s been filled with massively successful tracks, features, and projects, but none as big as his latest release, a 13-track heater with hits from start to finish.
